How Discord Alerts Work
A complete walkthrough of the TD Pro Discord alert system: the guild-wide channel alerts, how Big Bet and All-In routing work, how to link your account, how to set notification roles, and how to set up personal DM filters for the names you actually watch.
Open the tool →Hey guys, Art from TraderMatrix here. I want to walk through the whole Discord alert system, because there are actually two separate things running there and most members set up one of them and miss the other entirely.
The first layer is the guild feed: alerts that post automatically to the TD Pro Discord server and appear in specific channels for every member who has the right tier and follows those channels. You do not have to configure anything to receive these -- join the server and the alerts are there.
The second layer is personal DMs: your own flow alerts delivered privately to your Discord inbox, matched against criteria you define. That layer requires a Premium plan, a linked Discord account, and some setup in My Alerts. When both are running together, you get channel awareness without watching a screen, and specific private triggers for the names and criteria you actually care about.
The short version:
- The TD Pro Discord posts Big Bet, All-In, Breakouts, Gap Continuation, Sector Rotation, Earnings Flow, Dark Pool, Politician Trades, and Analyst trade alerts automatically.
- Big Bet = a $2M+ opening options print on a single non-ETF name, quality-filtered. All-In = three or more qualifying prints stacking the same direction on one ticker in one session.
- Personal DMs arrive in your Discord inbox when flow matches a filter you built in My Alerts. They require Premium plus a linked account.
- Link at /link-discord after running
/connectin the server. Pick notification roles in#notification-roles. Build DM filters at /alerts.- If DMs are not arriving, check My Alerts before rebuilding anything. A delivery-health banner shows whether Discord is blocking the messages.
Two layers: the guild and your inbox
The guild feed is the shared board. When a Big Bet fires, the alert appears in the #big-bet channel, tagged with a role mention for members who opted in. When sector rotation hits, the #sector-rotation channel gets an embed. Everyone with access to those channels sees the same alert at the same time. You do not configure which alerts the guild receives -- each alert type has its own job with its own criteria, and those run in the background continuously during market hours.
Personal DMs are separate. You define the criteria: which tickers you want to watch, what score minimum triggers a notification, what sentiment direction. When a flow matches your filter, a private message lands in your Discord inbox. No shared channel, no role ping -- just yours.
The setup paths differ for each layer. For the guild feed, you join the server and use the self-serve buttons in #notification-roles to subscribe to specific alert types. For personal DMs, you link your Discord account at /link-discord and build filters at My Alerts.
What gets posted to the guild
Nine distinct alert categories post to the server on their own schedules. Here is what each one is.
Big Bet
The most closely watched alert in the system. A Big Bet is a single opening options print on a single non-ETF stock with $2 million or more in premium, where the trade is provably new positioning (volume exceeded existing open interest), where the sentiment was opening-direction (calls bought bullishly or puts bought bearishly), and where no significant opposing flow arrived in the same window. That last filter, the opposing-veto check, drops the alert if two or more opposite-direction prints of $5 million or more landed on the same name nearby in time. A contested name is not a conviction call.
Big Bet alerts post to a dedicated premium channel with the 🎯 Big Bet role ping. Each embed includes a plain-English description of what the flow implies and a Trade Journal deep-link so you can log the trade directly from Discord.
All-In
A different read from a single large print. All-In fires when three or more separate qualifying flows stack the same direction on one ticker during one session. Each component flow must be $2 million or more and pass the same strict-opening quality check as Big Bet. The combined premium across all component flows must reach $10 million or more.
A single large print could be a new position, a hedge rollover, or a market maker filling their book. Three separate qualifying prints arriving across a session on one name in one direction is harder to explain as background noise. It goes to its own channel from Big Bet and carries the 🔥 All-In role ping.
Breakouts
Daily breakout and continuation signals from the Breaking Out scanner. These post after or near market close, so the alerts typically appear in the early evening. Members who subscribed to 💥 Breakouts receive the ping. These describe the setup -- the detail lives on the Breaking Out page.
Gap Continuation
Overnight gappers that hold and extend after the open, graded by how many confirming signals backed the move. These come from the TickerTrace system and post to their own channel with the 🚀 Gap Continuation role.
Sector Rotation
When capital moves meaningfully out of one sector and into another, the sector rotation job checks during market hours and posts when a rotation clears the detection threshold. The rate is capped per hour and per day so the channel does not fill with continuous incremental readings throughout a trend. Members who follow 🔄 Sector Rotation receive those pings.
Earnings Flow
Options positioning around upcoming earnings announcements. This runs during market hours alongside the main flow job and flags when notable positioning appears on a name with a near-term earnings date.
Dark Pool
Large equity block prints from dark pool tracking. When a block above the detection threshold fires, the job posts to a dedicated #dark-pool channel during market hours. The equity-side picture from dark pool is a separate instrument from options flow. Having both pointing the same direction on a name is a convergence worth noting.
Politician Trades
New congressional trade disclosures from official government filings. The ingest runs daily and the alert job checks for new entries throughout weekday hours, posting after the evening ingest cycle when new filings land. Politician trades are thematic reads over weeks, not session signals.
Analyst Trades
Channels for community analysts who post their positions. Several analysts have dedicated channels, some fed through automated integrations and some posted by hand or by the analyst's own bot. Members subscribe to individual analyst notification roles through the #notification-roles panel: Albeezy, Lor3zz, Dizu, Wex, Sal, TraderDaddy Daniel, Foxy, Stormzy, Mitro, and Sunless.
Three of those -- TraderDaddy Daniel, Wex, and Sunless -- are available to free members in the free tier channels. The rest sit in the Premium Signals category.
Free versus Premium
Channel access follows your subscription tier. Premium members have full access to the Premium Signals category, which includes the Big Bet, All-In, most platform alerts, and most analyst channels. Free members have access to a separate section with three analyst channels (Wex, Sunless, TraderDaddy Daniel), a channel that reposts analyst-room highlights, and a channel that posts a digest of Big Bet and All-In alerts. Both are labeled for free members. There is also a free preview channel that samples recent premium flow.
If you have a Premium plan but the server still shows only free content, your TD Pro account is not linked to your Discord account. That link is what the reconcile job reads to assign you the Premium Paid Member role in the server. Fix it at /link-discord.
Step 1: Link your Discord account
Without a linked account, you get free-member access in the server even on a paid plan, and personal DMs will not arrive at all. The link is how the platform identifies you inside Discord.
The process is two steps.
First, join the TD Pro Discord server. The invite link is in the platform under your account settings and on the pricing page.
Second, run /connect in the server. The bot sends a reply visible only to you with a link to complete the connection. Click it or paste it in a browser where you are already logged into TraderMatrix. The page at /link-discord handles the final step. You will see a confirmation when it completes.
After linking, the server reconcile job moves you to the Premium Paid Member role, which opens the Premium Signals channels. If you change your email or Whop account later and the channels disappear, run /connect again.
Step 2: Set your notification roles
Being in the Premium Signals channels means you can read the alert embeds. The embeds post without pinging you specifically unless you opt into the notification role for that alert type.
Go to #notification-roles in the server. There are two pinned messages: Free pings and Premium pings. Each button is a toggle. Click 🎯 Big Bet to subscribe; click it again to unsubscribe. The bot replies with a short ephemeral confirmation each time.
Platform alert roles on the Premium panel:
- 🎯 Big Bet -- $2M+ opening prints on single names
- 🔥 All-In -- three or more qualifying flows stacking the same direction
- 💥 Breakouts -- daily breakout signals from the scanner
- 🚀 Gap Continuation -- overnight gappers that hold after the open
- 🔄 Sector Rotation -- capital moving between sectors
The Free pings panel covers the three free-tier analyst roles.
There is no required set. If you trade primarily on flow, Big Bet and All-In are the first two to try. If sector context is part of your daily read, add Sector Rotation. Breakouts pairs naturally with the Breaking Out scanner if you already use that page.
Step 3: Build personal DM filters at My Alerts
Notification roles give you a ping when the guild receives an alert. Personal DMs are a separate layer -- you get a private message when a qualifying flow matched a filter you defined, regardless of what channel it would have appeared in.
Go to My Alerts. The page shows your alert settings, active rules, and a fire feed of recent matches.
Your alert rules start from filter presets you have saved on the Unusual Activity page. Any saved filter can be turned into an alert rule by enabling "Alert me on Discord" on that preset. When a flow clears the platform's quality floor ($250K premium minimum, score 75 or above) and also matches your preset's criteria -- tickers, score range, sentiment, trade type, DTE range -- a DM goes to your Discord inbox.
Rate limits are built into the DM path. A per-ticker cooldown prevents the same name from pinging you repeatedly in a short window, and there is a per-user daily ceiling. These exist to keep the DM path from becoming a firehose on active sessions.
The delivery-health banner at the top of My Alerts shows whether DMs are actually reaching you. If Discord's privacy settings are blocking bot messages, that banner will surface it. Check it first whenever DMs stop arriving, before you touch the filter configuration.
Wheel position alerts
The Wheel Desk has its own separate DM path. If you track covered calls or cash-secured puts there, you can opt in to position alerts that fire when a leg moves into the assignment or called-away zone. You enable this in the Wheel Desk interface directly, not from My Alerts. Wheel alerts run during market hours on their own schedule and are scoped to your actual logged positions.
Three workflows
Setting up a quiet personal feed
The most common complaint I hear is either too many pings and the whole server gets muted, or no pings and nothing seems to be working. The fix is to be selective with notification roles and use personal DMs for the names that actually matter to you.
Start with two notification roles: 🎯 Big Bet for large directional flow on single names, and whichever analyst you follow most closely. Mute other channels. Then go to My Alerts, save a filter on Unusual Activity for the specific names on your active watchlist, and enable alerts on that preset. Now you get a guild ping when any name clears Big Bet criteria, a private DM when flow hits one of your watched names even if it does not qualify for Big Bet, and a quiet server for everything else.
Following a specific alert type
If sector rotation is part of how you read market context, subscribe to 🔄 Sector Rotation. The channel posts when the detection job identifies meaningful capital movement between sectors. You can also watch the channel without the ping role if you would rather check it at your own pace rather than being interrupted mid-session.
Same approach for Breakouts: subscribe to 💥 Breakouts and the scanner embeds appear in your notification feed. Pair that channel with the Breaking Out page, where you can see the full setup detail and the scanner history.
Managing notification volume in the evening
Discord has built-in notification scheduling at the server level. You can configure quiet hours for the TD Pro server so that role pings do not interrupt you at night. Open the server on mobile, long-press or tap the server name, and look for notification settings. Set the override to "Only @mentions" to limit pings to direct mentions, then configure scheduled quiet hours for the hours you want uninterrupted. This is a Discord-native setting, not something in the platform, but it is the most reliable way to keep the signal during the session without carrying the same volume into the evening.
Common mistakes
Not running /connect before going to /link-discord
The /link-discord page expects a token that the /connect command provides. If you land on it without running the command first, there is nothing to complete and the page returns an error. Run /connect in the Discord server, use the link the bot replies with, and then the page works.
Skipping the delivery-health check before rebuilding filters
When personal DMs stop arriving, the first instinct is to rebuild the filter. The more common cause is Discord's privacy settings blocking bot messages. Open My Alerts and look at the delivery banner before touching the filter configuration. The banner shows exactly what is blocking delivery so you know whether the fix is a Discord setting or a filter change.
Subscribing to every notification role
The #notification-roles panel makes it easy to opt into everything in one click. On a busy session, Big Bet can fire multiple times an hour across several names, and Sector Rotation has its own cadence. Subscribing to every role turns market hours into a continuous phone notification. Start with one or two roles. Add more after you have a sense of the volume each one produces.
Reading an alert as a trade plan
A Big Bet alert means a qualifying large opening print landed on that name. It does not mean the trade was directionally correct, that the buyer had better information, or that copying it is sensible. An All-In is three prints stacking -- stronger consensus signal, same caveat. Before acting on a guild alert, open Unusual Activity, filter to that ticker, and look at the full flow picture plus market context. The alert is a pointer to investigate, not a plan.
Thinking guild pings and personal DMs are the same thing
They are not. Guild pings require subscribing to the notification role in #notification-roles. Personal DMs require linking your account and building a filter preset in My Alerts. You can have one without the other. A common gap is subscribing to the Big Bet role expecting personal DMs to follow -- they will not, because the two systems are independent.
What it does not do
Discord Alerts do not give you a filterable flow tape inside Discord. The alerts are events. If you want to filter and browse the full flow tape, that lives on Unusual Activity. Discord is where you receive the notification; the platform is where you investigate it.
Personal DMs do not fire for every flow on a watched name. The quality floor ($250K premium minimum, score 75 or above) is a hard gate before your filter criteria even apply. Low-score or low-premium prints will not trigger a DM regardless of how you configure the filter.
There is no in-platform notification center that mirrors the Discord channel history. If you missed alerts while offline, scroll back in the Discord channel directly, or check the fire feed on My Alerts, which shows recent DMs you received through the personal filter path.

Alert content is drawn from live platform data and does not constitute financial advice. An alert posting in Discord is not a recommendation to buy or sell any security. Options involve significant risk including total loss of premium paid. Personal DM delivery depends on Discord privacy settings and a linked account -- open My Alerts to check delivery status.
